About

I've spent 20+ years in IT and the last 8 focused entirely on data — architecting the systems that let global businesses trust their numbers. I'm based in Bournemouth, Dorset, and work remotely with clients across the UK — London, Manchester, Birmingham, Leeds, Glasgow, Sheffield, Edinburgh, Liverpool, Bristol, Cardiff and Newcastle — as well as in Poland, including Warsaw, Poznań and Kraków.

Most of my work starts the same way: a business running on several ERPs at once, each one telling a slightly different story. My job is to reconcile that into a single, well‑modelled platform — most recently leading a full migration from a legacy TimeXtender setup to a Microsoft Fabric Medallion architecture for a $350M+ business spanning multiple ERP systems (Epicor, Navision, AP Plus, KingDee, Fourthshift, flat files and other data sources) across eight countries.

I care as much about the last mile as the pipeline itself — a dashboard is only useful if the people reading it trust it, so performance, data accuracy and clear visual design all get equal attention.

How I build

Modern architecture, not just dashboards.

Beyond reporting, I engineer the platform underneath it — built to scale and ready for what comes after BI.

SQL / Python

End-to-end engineering

SQL and Python (including PySpark) across the full pipeline — extraction, transformation, orchestration and testing — version-controlled with Git and CI/CD, not just query writing.

Lakehouse

Data lakehouses

Medallion architecture (Bronze → Silver → Gold) on Microsoft Fabric — one governed platform instead of scattered exports.

Semantic layer

AI-ready models

Semantic models built on Kimball star-schema principles, with Row-Level Security and governance baked in — and clean enough to feed Copilot, Claude, RAG pipelines and agents.

Scale

Built to grow

Pipelines and models designed for the data volume and user count you'll have in two years, not just today.

Where I can help

Data platforms that people actually trust.

A selection of the work clients bring me in for — from first pipeline to finished dashboard.

01

Fabric & Power BI Architecture

Migrating legacy ETL environments to Microsoft Fabric's Medallion architecture, with Kimball-style dimensional modeling and a semantic layer built to scale.

02

ERP Data Integration

Consolidating Epicor, Navision, AP Plus, KingDee, Fourthshift, flat files and other data sources into one governed, single source of truth.

03

Performance Tuning

Optimising SQL, T-SQL, DAX, Power Query and Fabric capacity so reports load faster and compute costs stay under control.

04

Dashboards That Drive Decisions

Power BI dashboards for operations, forecasting and executive reporting, with Row-Level Security and governance built in — not bolted on.

05

ETL Pipeline Engineering

Reliable pipelines with SSIS and Fabric that keep data fresh, accurate and audit‑ready.

06

Stakeholder Reporting

Client‑facing reports and data storytelling that hold up under scrutiny from finance to the warehouse floor.

Track record

20+ years in IT, 8+ years in data.

From hands-on IT support and ERP administration to leading a Microsoft Fabric migration for a $350M+ business — my path has consistently moved toward owning the full data platform, not just the reports sitting on top of it.
